In first grade we will go over a variety of different concepts in Math. In West Des Moines Elementary Schools we adopted Everyday Mathematics in the school year 2009-2010. Everyday Mathematics is a spiraling curriculum which allows students to be introduced to a variety of different concepts. Telling time, addition, subtraction, measuring, patterns, and counting money are just a few examples of the big concepts we will cover. Students will have a Home-Link sent home daily which is focuses on the concepts we are working on. Please help your children complete these. The idea of the home-link is to link school and home together; to show students learning happens everywhere.
